GSA 508 Accessibility Statement


The Adesso Platform and applications created using the Adesso Platform conform to Section 508 for assistive technology and accessibility. Specific features and requirements include:


(a) Executing Function from Keyboard

The Adesso Platform utilizes keyboard commands for function with a text label. Standard functions such as Cut Copy and Paste use regular shortcuts, while function unique to Adesso use keyboard commands like F5 for synchronizing and F2 for the application designer. Standard ALT+ functions are also built into the Adesso Platform.


(b) Accessibility Features

The Adesso Platform follows regular Windows protocols and supports all OS functions. No accessiblity features are disabled by the Adesso Platform.


(c) Input Focus

The Adesso Platform clearly identifies the focus point for the user and this information is readily available through standard code for any assistive technology to read.


(d) User Interface Element

The Adesso Platform provides text labels next to most icons and pictorial elements in the User Interface. For those buttons and images without text labels, standard tooltips are available for assistive technology.


(e) Bitmap Images

The images that the Adesso Platform uses to represent functions and specifications are consistent throughout the application. For example a pencil and protractor icon is used to represent the Adesso Designer function and it is only used to represent that function and no other.


(f) Textual Information

The Adesso Platform uses standard text assignment and placement for text. No graphic textual representations are used and all text is readily accessible by assistive technology.


(g) User Selected Attributes

The Adesso Platform automatically inherits the user settings from the Windows OS and does not change them. There is no setting to override this, therefore the Adesso Platform will always use the settings the user has specified for the operating system.


(h) Animation

The Adesso Platform does not employ animation in any of its features.


(i) Color Coding

The Adesso Platform does not use color coding for any of its functions or features. Applications created on the Adesso Platform may have color coded functions but also are labeled with text fields.


(j) Color and Contrast Settings

The Adesso Platform inherits the color and contrast settings from the OS. Applications created on the Adesso Platform may have a range of color settings, including high contrast for better visual identification


(k) Flashing or Blinking Text

The Adesso Platform and applications created using the Adesso Platform do not employ flashing or blinking text.


(l) Electronic Forms

The Adesso Platform is used to create applications, which are typically electronic forms. By default, text labels are inserted to the left of every field for data to be collected.
